Krav Maga gal needs belt test advice! Jul. 13th, 2006 @ 09:21 pm
Hello everyone! I'm a southern California resident that has been practicing Krav Maga for about a year now at the national training center. I love it. Anyway, it's about time I tried to take my first belt test, so I'm scheduled to do that in a few weeks. Does anyone in this forum do Krav Maga, and if so, I need some advice on how to prepare for taking the test food-wise. It's a 5 hour (at least) test, and I know there are no breaks allowed. Water goes without saying, but , some people have said bring high protein, small snacks because you will get hungry, and also avoid gatorade and high carb snacks as you'll crash during the test. Any advice? (No horror stories until after I pass. ;p) Thanks in advance!

hi, my name is mike and im new to this community. last october i started tae kown do training with southwestern association of martial arts. i'm just a yellow belt now. i live about 50 miles east of san diego. i train two days a week. i am not as dedicated as some of my brothers and sisters but i enjoy tae kwon do. i am 20 years old. i joined this community because i would like to see other peoples viewpoints on techniques and things of that nature. i am also interested in meeting people in the san diego area. if you would like to add me, go ahead, i don't mind. well that's it for now. peace ppl.

Hi, I just joint this community. I have been practising taiji for 10 years. Mainly yang style with Sam Masich as my teacher. I also train in push hands and sword, the double edged blade. Would love to hear from those who are training in taiji, particularly the ones in Canada.

Hello, I'm new here (hence the obligatory intro). I'm 6 days short of being 22, and I've been interested in the martial arts about as far back as I can recall. I blame Ninja Turtles, myself. I took a few years of Ed Parker's American Kenpo Karate a while back before the school dissolved around us, got up to Green belt. I'm quite out of practice, but I still remember enough basics to make a difference if a situation came up. I'm trying to find the time to work out again, and I'm looking into moving into Bo and Swords (because everyone likes swords). I've looked into Tae Kwon Do for a while (my legs are the majority of my 6'4") and I might end up taking Kung Fu at some point, but starting college again will probably interfere with that.

The long and short of it is, I'm more casual than I'd like, and I'm rather hoping that signing up here might introduce me to a few new people/events/groups/whatnot to get my drive going again.

So, hello, all that fun. Hope I'm not a bore or too n00bish. And if you see this multiple times, I've joined two other communities, so, sorry about that.
